I can't send allies home, use them in Merge Allies, create Combat Manuals, or set the source for skill inheritances. What should I do?

You cannot send allies home, use them in Merge Allies, create combat manuals, or set them as the source for skill inheritance in the following situations:

• If your Hero has been marked as a favorite.
• If your Hero is in a reserve barracks.
• If you have selected Alfonse: Prince of Askr, Anna: Commander, or Sharena: Princess of Askr.
• If the rarity of the source ally is lower than the rarity of the target ally when merging. 
  Note: You can merge your allies in this case by enabling the Merge Heroes w/Lower ★ Rating option in the Settings menu.

You can remove a Hero from your favorites by following these steps.

1. Go to Allies, then open Edit Teams.
2. Open Ally Profiles (tap and hold the Hero or tap the + button in the upper-left corner).
3. Tap the heart on the left side.
   
4. Tap Remove.

If you remove a Hero from your favorites and then send that Hero home, use them to create a combat manual, or perform skill inheritance, those operations cannot be undone. Therefore, please check the confirmation screen carefully and proceed with caution.
